A family story that connects generations

The history of Nain Trading began long before the company was founded. The previous generation of the Naeini family was already closely connected to the traditional rug trade. Knowledge of materials, origins, quality and craftsmanship was passed down over decades.

In 1998, Reza Naeini founded Nain Trading in Hamburg. The original focus was on the wholesale of high-quality hand-knotted rugs. Close relationships with producers and workshops created a network that still forms the foundation of our company today.

With the next generation joining the business, Ali Naeini and Amin Naeini continued to develop the company and successfully brought Nain Trading into the digital world. What began as a specialised wholesaler has grown into one of Europe’s largest online retailers of handmade rugs.

Despite our growth, we have remained true to our roots: personal advice, the highest quality standards and a passion for genuine craftsmanship remain at the heart of everything we do to this day.

A handmade rug is a product with history, character and personality. That is why we do not see each rug as a mass-produced item, but as a unique work of art.

Our experts carefully inspect every rug, paying close attention to quality, materials, craftsmanship and origin. At the same time, we support our customers with personal advice, bespoke rug sourcing, made-to-order pieces, as well as professional cleaning and repair services.

With our warehouse locations in Germany, Denmark, Italy and the USA, we are able to ship many of our rugs quickly and securely to customers worldwide.
